Does anyone know if its to your advantage if you were interviewed and WL'd in the previous cycle? Do adcoms look at your app as a completely new application?

yeah they look at u as a new applicant and you are ranked according to the current cycles competitiveness... no advantage what so ever

haha i thought so, but figured I'd ask! thanks for the reply!

Actually, we look at your app with a harsher eye. We expect significant improvement since the last app cycle.

In this context, what would you consider significant improvement? Any general examples?

Try to call as many schools (not just school(s) that put you on WL) where you were unsuccessful and ask them about weaknesses in your application. Then work on them! If it's not your stats or ECs, then it just might be your interviewing skills.

Concur; also adding more volunteer hrs, getting more research done; improving GPAs.

Simply getting one more LOR, or starting a job won't cut it.

Obvious ones r MCAT jump research shadow etc. Fixing weaknesses
