I am reapplying to one of the schools I was rejected to in the previous cycle, and I'm wondering how should I approach it? Im between two trains of thoughts for this 2000 char. secondary prompt:
  1. Should I just state X, Y, Z specifics of what changed (MCAT, more clinical hours, more volunteering, etc.)?
  2. Or should it be more verbose/flowery, and talking about my true desire to pursue a career in medicine was strengthened and my app improved thus because of that
Any tips appreciated!

I'd just say, "Since the time of my previous application (201_-201_), I have 1 ) retaken the MCAT and increased my score to 5__, 2) assisted [describe population] as a volunteer at xyz and 3) expanded my clinical experience by working (or volunteering) for N hours at [location]." Given that it is 2000 characters, you might want to then give a sentence or two about each of those 3 items and sum up saying that while you were disappointed with the results of the previous application cycle, you realize that what you've accomplished has helped you to become better prepared for medical school.

What is the exact prompt?
Were you interviewed?
Is this your state school?
Were you a stats match before? Now?

If you are a reapplicant to the “X” College of Medicine, how have you strengthened your application?

I was not interviewed, not even offered a secondary because MCAT screen. Yes this is a state school. Definitely a stat match now, least within the median range.

When I reapplied, I used the "any additional info.." essay to discuss the topics Lizzy described.
