Please serious advice only.

I have a ~3.5 GPA from biomedical engineering at a good school with a 31 (10-10-11) MCAT and then a 507 MCAT (125 is psych and sociology, 127+ in rest). I have decent EC's (2 years of research, shadowing, sports, etc.) and I graduated in 2015. I applied for admission last year, and did not get a single interview. I am applying again and I have yet to get an interview. Sine graduation, I worked in a research lab for 6 months and now I am working part-time in a medical practice. How can I boast up my chances? Should I enroll in a post-bac program or SMP?

Am I out of the running this year since I have yet to get an interview? Is applying for a 3rd time looked down? I didn't take a corporate job in order to boast up my medical school apps after graduation and I'm worried I still won't get in. I am 23 years old btw.

Thanks

So it seems that there are a few things with your application that stand out.

1) if you were unsuccessful last year at even getting an II, then you should not have applied the next year. There were obvious defects in your application that wouldn't have been fixed within 1 year

2) You have lowered end stats for MD. That's not to say it's impossible, but you basically scored the same, if not a bit lower on the new MCAT.

3) You are still young, so don't feel rushed to get in now. I'm not sure where in the US you are, but there are some good MBS programs that have high placement rate or a bridge program.

4) If you didn't last year, I would contact some of those schools and ask if you could get feedback on your application. It could range anywhere from community service, to grades, to clinical exposure, etc. Honestly, it will be different for each school. The first time I applied, I had a school tell me they wanted to see just a little more from my science coursework (I was a non-science major) and another school said my grades and classes were totally fine, but it was my community service hours that were sub-par for them. To be fair, these were both post-interview.

5) How many of these schools were DO? You seem to have a pretty good score for those programs. If you haven't applied DO, you still have at least a month for many of the programs to submit an application. If you don't want to rush it, I would take the rest of the year to potentially shadow a DO so you have that exposure and potentially an LOR from a DO. Also, if you had any Cs or B-, DO has grade replacement so you could more easily raise your GPA.

6) How many programs did you apply to and what is your home state?
