Hi everyone. So I applied for internal medicine last year but didnt match mainly because I applied narrowly with average to weak application. I am reapplying this year to internal medicine and I am wondering, do I need to write an entirely new personal statement? My plan was to alter my previous one to reflect what I am doing in the year after graduating medical school and how I will be better off for it. But the bulk(around 60-70% of it) will remain the same because my motivations for entering IM remain the same.

Does anyone who was in a similar situation have experience or knowledge about this?

Your plan sounds fine.
