Reapply this cycle or wait and reapply next year?

So over a month ago I posted in the pre med forum about what I should do and am still seeking more advice so I thought it would be a good idea to repost here.

I have acquired about 15 more shadowing hours and will start volunteering at a local hospital this week.

Also, I took my MCAT June 2017. If I apply in 2019 am I at risk for my score expiring? I know most schools will accept scores from the past 3 years- but is that 3 years from when you apply or from when you matriculate?
