Reapplying after being waitlisted for previous year

I really want to attend the University of Denver's Clinical PsyD program, and was waitlisted last year. I reapplied for this coming Fall. Has anyone done this before and been accepted? Rejected? Waitlisted again?

Or even worse, not even invited to an inteview?
The reason I ask is because I still haven't heard back about an interview yet, and they are supposed to be held this weekend! On the phone yesterday the admissions spokesperson said she hopes to have interview decisions done by the end of today, but did note that they were really behind. How is it even possible that I wouldn't get an interview this year, after making it all the way to the waitlist last year?

Or perhaps they will just make a decision without asking that I fly out a second time?

Any past experiences that could help me gain some piece of mind right now?

I've done this with two research-focused PHD programs. I was accepted (really quickly/easily) to one the following year, and rejected without an interview at the other. Basically, there's no predicting this. 🙂

Happened to me this year. Was informed I was a "first alternate" last year. Ultimately, didn't get in.

Interviews for this year are this weekend and I haven't received even a word from them. They also sent me 3 or 4 rejections letters last year. Pretty annoying, but also pretty telling for me.

Aw man, are you taking about DU too? I didn't make it this year, apparently they have way more applicants. I found out because I called them a bunch, but otherwise, I probably would not have heard from them.

Ah, life! Maybe something better is coming though, gotta keep moving forward!

I don't really know an official answer to this, but I would assume that they go on a case-by-case basis so that if you show that you have done something in that year they would be open to considering, but if you are essentially submitting the same application then it wouldn't make sense...do you feel like you were able to noticeably change aspects of your application this time?

It probably also depends a lot on the applicant pool the following year, if the "perfect" person for your mentor applies, it may not matter that your app has improved.

I applied to DU and subsequently withdrew my application. I missed the 2 application essays, but they'd actually lost half my application anyways. So they e-mailed and called me for those. Then when I sent it, they e-mailed and called again and said I missed the 2 essays, but could still write them and send them in (a few weeks ago). I was really busy, so I put it off 'till the weekend, when I got invited to interviews at my top 2 schools. DU was last on my list. So IDK if they were so nice to me because of my GRE scores and GPA or what... Although, I never got a reply when I e-mailed them about no longer being interested. 😉

No. It was a different program. Keep that rejection letter (if you received one) and look at it every few days to remind yourself of all your nay-sayers and how you will disprove them!
