I plan on reapplying for medical school. My essay that I wrote on my first ACOMAS was pretty solid. I wanted to if anybody knows if med schools keep prior applications - meaning if i use the same essay will they have my old one to catch me!

Thanks!!!!!!!!

I was told by some adcoms that they would like to see a new PS for a new year.

Shows that your serious and not lazy to cut and paste the same thing from last year.

at least thats what they told me....

I would use pretty much the same essay, but revise it by updating it with how you've changed or improved your application for this cycle.

Plus, after a year when I re-read my pervious personal statement, it no longer felt completely "me", so I ended up rewriting my personal statement for a better fit.

what if you submitted AACOMAS but withdrew or didn't submit secondaries? do you think they review incomplete applications at all? some schools review the AACOMAS before even sending out secondaries, some like nycom choose who to interview just based on AACOMAS, but others just send out the secondary to everyone and wait til an application is complete before they do anything. hmm i think i just answered my own question. i would change it up and make the PS up to date anway.
