reapplying do/md with a new letter??

hey guys...

i was wondering if any of you can offer me any insight into this whole thing. if i'm going to apply to both do and md schools and i get a letter from a do doctor (req. by most schools), should i send it separately to only the do schools...and not the md ones??

my other letters are sent through my school..and if i put this letter in the file...i can't remove it/pick which letters to send to which school. i really just want to be a doctor...so, i don't want to shoot myself in the foot by sending a letter that would say how good a do i would be to an allopathic school, and vice versa. what do you guys think?

Sometimes pre med committees will write two composite letters and have a separate DO and MD application package. Ask about that.

DO letter to DO schools only. Some DO schools will turn you down if you gave them MD letters.

I think DO LORs should only go to the DO schools. A DO letter might not be looked upon as favorably by a MD school. However, if you are able to get a MD LOR... that could go to both the DO and the MD schools.
