Reapplying help!

I am reapplying this cycle so I wanted to change my application so that I can have a better shot at getting in. I have 4 Cs, 2 in Chem and 2 in Physics. I am currently retaking a physics class at community college, and just started an online chem class. However, the online chem course is crazy difficult (I thought it would be relatively easy) with 10 weeks of work in only 3 weeks, and I'm already falling behind with the midterm being next week, so I'm dropping it.
If I reapply and have only 1 class done, but plan to retake 1 or 2 more in the Fall, how does that look? I guess it would be best to just work on my application. Any other suggestions on what else I can do to improve my application? Has anyone reapplied and retaken courses? (and what the outcome was)

I was in your boat 2 years ago. I would highly recommend waiting until after your fall grades have hit to submit your application. (obviously this depends on the schools and their application deadlines, but many have later deadlines). The first time I applied, I found that I got a lot of automatic rejections (i.e. got rejected on GPA or got the standard disqualified letter before anyone really looked at my app) even though my courses were in progress (I'm guessing your pre req GPA specifically is low). Knowing what I do now, I wish I had just not applied 2 years ago. I needed my fall retakes to have competitive application....it was a waste of my money to apply that year because I was such an outside shot. I retook everything with the exception of chemistry (I had a B and a C+ I think from a long time ago) and got straight As. I got interviews and acceptances when I reapplied last cycle. What is your pre req GPA and overall GPA? I think that will help you decide. (no, I don't think there is much you can do other than retakes....no amount of hours or recommendations will cover for a low GPA....again, I learned that the hard way.)

Damn. That's a bummer... I don't know if I can wait another year just to reapply. The timeline is really annoying! I got rejections around Feb/March so by then the only choice I had was to retake classes in summer and fall, which doesn't do much. Now I only have 1 physics retake class. My overall is 3.0 and prereq is 3.2. I meet the minimum but I know what held me back a lot last year were my grades...
May I ask what schools you applied to? I did a lot of research, but still don't really know where to apply. I applied locally last year, to schools within CA, which are impossible to get into.
