I wanted opinions/advise on whether i should get new letters of recs from my professors/dentist/employer? or would it be okay to use the same letters with an updated date?

and would i need to write new essays too??

oh and if anyone has re-applied what did you do to improve your application? and if that helped you get in.

thankss!:)

For me i asked 2 out of 4 people that i asked last year so 2 letter were for sure new and the other two might be the same letter i don't know but i am betting they are the same. I don't think dental schools will hold it against ME because THEY didn't want to write a new one. As far as improving my app. i put in another 500 hrs shadowing and retook the DAT and raised my GPA.

If it hasn't been a couple of years, it is fine to use updated dates for your old letters. If it has been a while like 3-4 years, it's better to get new letters if you have people who will write them for you.
