hi guys,

I'm filling out my AMCAS for the 2011-2012 cycle right now. This is my second round of applying. Last cycle things didnt work out so well but I figured I'd give it another shot. I was considering retaking my mcat as well. My question is if i submit my AMCAS early with my old mcat score but make note that I plan to retake the mcat in August will schools wait for that score? Or will they reject me or not offer a secondary based off of my first score despite the fact that I may retake and do much better?

I just want to get my application in early so that I can focus on my MCAT and not be so late in the cycle. At the same time I dont want schools to look at the first score and weed me out when I may do much better on the August MCAT I plan on taking.

they will wait for the new score, but the issue you will run into is that they will be setting your app aside until the new score comes out. so you will lose the "advantage" of applying early, it will essentially be as though you had gone complete in September.
