Greetings;

I am a reapplicant this year, I did not pass the interview last year, I was wondering if anyone had tips for me on what to do differently. Does anyone know of a source, book or website that addresses reapplicants?

Thanks,

Any help will be appreciated

Did you clip your fingernails before you went in for your interview? Also, a fresh haircut is recommended. Before I go into any sort of important meeting, interview, or otherwise face-to-face interaction I always make sure to clip my fingernails.

No seriously... This is important..

Otherwise, I think the best thing that you can do is do some research into common interview questions that will arise during a Pharmacy School interview. It might also help to do some research into common questions that arise during a job interview. Come up with thoughtful answers to these questions and role play the interview several times with another person.

Role play is also very important.

So - Clip your fingernails, get a haircut, and role play... Good luck!

Definitely practice at your interviews. Apply early, as that may make a huge impact on when you get another interview, if you do. Try to emphasize your improvements from the previous year in your personal statements and interview(s).

Thank you guys for the pointers. I was well-groomed, nails were clipped, hair was recently cut, attire was professional. I asked the school how I could improve for next time and they never got back to me, I asked a second time and still no response. I know where I went wrong though, I had a very bad interview. I could not calm my nerves, I was very nervous, I threw up before and after the interview and my hands were shaking during the interview. I just didn't make a good impression. Thanks again everyone. best of luck beargirl.

I would call the school & ask to speak to an advisor or someone who could help u. some ppl are bad about responding to emails. Just mention that u have email someone twice about it & they never got back to u. That might get the ball rolling. As far as the anxiety goes have u spoken to someone about that? I mean I'm really not one to talk about that b/c I have had some bad test anxiety but dang! Hang in there dude think happy thoughts 🙂

Thanks Beargirl, I should contact an advisor, show her/him my application from last year and ask how it could be improved. And no, I haven't talked to anyone about my anxiety but I will. I plan on talking to my primary physican and see if he will prescribe a couple doses of Valium. I work at a pharmacy and I see Valium prescriptions for patients stressed about flights, MRIs and other similar activites that bring on anxiety. Beargirl, you are a reapplicant.......if I may ask, how did you or plan to improve your application for this year?
