I know most people will say either is good, but in terms of reapplying it's not much better than last year. I would like to apply ASAP this year since last cycle I think that applying late (LOR) was a weakness. Planning on retaking 2 BIO courses made a C in. BTW was rejected from UNC, still havent heard from Maryland (cant be good), and Waitlisted at Tufts (and a few others i didn't bother to interview at). Will probably reapply to those schools + Louisville. At the time of applying first time (for 2009) around 3.5 Overall/3.21 SCI (BA UNC-Chapel Hill) DAT 20/20/17 (may retake as well). Lots of shadowing hours, and assisting as well. No research. NC resident-white male. I understand the interview is important as well, and I wish I could have done a little better w/ those as well as interviewed earlier. It's such a quick turnaround b/t expecting an acceptance SOMEWHERE and trying to repad your application-should i study my face off for the DAT and hopefully make 22+ or try and half ass the studying while improving the GPA, all while shadowing. Appreciate any help.

don't give up yet. You can still get in this year.

If you must reapply, do it early. Nobody is going to care if you have a 3.3 or a 3.4. But it does make a different if you are number 1000 or number 3000 with AADSAS.

What do u mean update can u do that and not lose anything? Like appy first day and then add the spring grades once they come in? I thought once u send in your grades for aadsas thats it thats whats going to be sent out. Or is there time ot change stuff around after youve sent it in? Thanks

you can always update your grades. in the application, indicate you're taking those classes in the future, then send in the transcripts as they come in.

Sucky GPA said what I wanted to say.

But yeah, just send in your application as soon as you can. Later, when you get your grades, ship them out and you should be good to go.

So schools will get your latest transcripts as long as you send updated ones to AADSAS before you apply to the specific schools?
does this apply to reference letters as well? Can you apply in may, then attach LOR's in sept for instance?

Schools wont consider your application complete until all necessary documents have been submitted. Therefore, you cannot send in your LORs later on (You could do this, but schools wont review your application until they receive the LORs).

As far as the grades, submit what you have to AADSAS. When you get it updated, you can submit to AADSAS again. Personally, I think I would contact the schools and send the transcripts directly to them as well. It should save you some time that way.

In any case, it is important that each element of your application is submitted because schools will not consider your application complete until all materials have arrived. Once they get everything, they will begin reviewing your application. If at any point, before its not too late, you want to send them additional items, (dentist recommendation, new DAT score, new grades, etc...) you can go ahead and submit that to the schools at that time.

Ok I guess my question was a bit vague.
What i meant to ask was when you do update (What does updating mean does is it beneficial in anyway) your gpa, Does Aadsas take your sumbmitted gpa that you submitted in May lets say I put 3.39 like the guy above says and in June it increased to 3.48 and letse say "I updated it" will Aadsas change that 3.39 to the new 3.48 again in the application (remember were saying appliation was submitted in may)? If they only get the transcript and don't do anything with it what good will it do if you send your transcripts when they don't really recalculate it? On your application it will still say 3.39 no matter who you send your transcripts to right?

A bit unclear sorry

apply in may and send an updated transcript to the school in June. most allow you to send official transcripts directly to them.

No, when your application is processed aadsas sends you a form with all your data, essay and everything you typed in on the aadsas application, if you send them an update of your grades they generate a new form and send it to the schools you applied to and you also get the new copy in the mail...don't worry about it like someone said it is much more important to send the application in the earliest possible your gpa isn't that bad to start with. You will be fine until the end of june because aadsas takes about a month to send your stuff out anyway no school is going to have the time to put you in the rejection pile in late june.

So if you apply in May and send your transcript at the same time, but plan to take summer classes should you submit your updated transcript to the schools directly or to AADSAS?
