Reappy Q re: LOR's

I had to reapply for this year. I used all the same letters that I had from last year plus added a commitee letter and a letter from a non-science professor. With all the applicants a school sees I would say that your safe on them not remembering your letters from the year before. I never had anything mentioned to me on this topic on any of my interviews.litlmisa said:

you didnt get in with what you have now, what's the point of sending in the same stuff? if you can, try to change EVERYthing. make sure it's for better though.
revise your personal statement, get new letters of recs, more extracurricular activities, etc. improve yourself! you got many months to do it. good luck!

I'd have to agree with polarnut. If I'd have to re-apply, which I probably will, I would ask the admin where it is that I need to improve on with my applications. And if the LOR's is one of them, then the LOR's I shall change. Otherwise I'd focus more on what they recommend the improve and if there's more time later, improve the other "unchanged" things.

My volunteer service has almost doubled
My experiece was already high (CDA for 5+ years)
My GPA is a 3.65 sci and 3.5 Cum (cum will come up with this and last term)
My Dat was 21/20/21
and now I will have all the pre-reqs compleated-
I just want to be prepared-My first choice school is still interviewing-and didn't start until late october.
I am in the 'waiting for second round/still in active review" at most(all but 1) schools.
I am just try to prepare for the worst-but still hope for the best 🙂

I tweaked my app on reapplying more than anything. I think I used all but 1 of my previous references (and all of those were word for word copies). The one letter I did remove was one from my current manager which I replaced with a letter from a specialist graduate from my top choice school. I also touched up my personal statement by having a few friends/family read it and make comments. You'd be suprised at how many good tips you can get from having several pairs of eyes on your statement!
