Reason behind fewer advanced program

I did some research and found that more schools were/are canceling their advanced program recently (e.g. Uconn, nyu etc.)

I wonder what's the reason. Shouldn't bad economy makes schools enroll more international students who would more likely to just pay rather than debt?

Well I really dont know a very good reason but I know NYU cancelled the program as they put the students file according to their scores, since there are no scores now its difficult for them to judge on what basis they should accept one and reject the other student.
I called Uconn and came to know that they have stopped the program due to lack of seats and the lady over the phone was kinda rude so I didnt ask any further questions and hanged up.
So you see every school has their own reasons.

There are already too many international dental programs, and the enrollment at many institutions is too high.

ohh its very simple...I know this for NYU at least- confirmed by an insider. They add those seats to the regular dds program and that way they end up getting more students paying all 4 years fees against the 2 or 3 years which international students pay for . So its all about the money honey 😀

Thank you so much for the replies guys! I'm planning to apply for the advanced program in 1-2 years and to see more schools cutting the program off really starts to worry me..

Do you feel this change will be temporary or more schools will follow the track? Is this going to decrease the chance of enrollment greatly? What are the other factors they start to consider?
