I tried to come up with some answers in case a professor asks "why do you ask ME (but not someone else)?"
(2 years ago, a prof. asked that when I asked for scholarship LoR).
I feel like 'reasons' such as "I took your class and enjoyed it very much" or "I like your teaching style" aren't sufficient...
Can you plz give me some suggestions?

I don't think there's any way out of that awkward situation, unfortunately. This happened to me (I never talked to my science profs because I never needed their help...thought "small talk" for the purposes of a future LOR was stupid), but I was able to get all my letters, so I was fine.

Ideally, you should only get those who know you personally and can evaluate your candidacy write letters. If there are any professors whom you have for whatever reason visited often or kept in contact with, ask them first.

I don't think you could ever go wrong with a simple "Because you're so awesome!" and a big 😀

blah blah blah, consequently you're in a unique position to gauge my capacity to succeed in medical school and as a doctor.

The correct way of doing it is to hand out $100 and smile.
