Just out of curiosity, do rec letters from faculty at med schools have any more weight than just a normal professor at your undergrad? For example, I worked in 3 different labs at 3 different medical schools. I currently work in one of them full time, but I have very strong rec letters from the PIs from these schools who are high up directors of specific research programs etc and teach med school students. I will have 2 pubs with 2 of these PIs and one is first author although it is just a review. I was just wondering do these have any more weight, like if you're borderline do you think these help at all? I also am able to get a rec letter from the dean of one of these schools and possibly one of the chief MDs at the hospital I am at who we collaborate with but I'm not sure how heavily these are viewed.

Thanks
