rec. letters from the last cycle?

I got rejected last cycle, so I am re-applying this June.
Do you think I can use the rec. letters I once submitted last year?

I had my professors send in the same ones, so yeah I don't see what the problem would be.

some school require all new ones, i guess i would just look at the websites of the school ur interested in, i know MN says explicitly all re-applicants need new LORs. they can be by the same people but they need to be new.. im getting new ones just because i think they will still have my file from this year and i guess 8 is better than 4? plus i have not kept in contact with my old profs.

Go to the ones who wrote them before and see if they will update their letters. Tell them what you have been doing and what has changed. Worst case scenario get them to submit the same letter with a new date on the top.

If you are going to invest your time and future into re-applying, then I would highly suggest to seek new updated LOR's. Contact the professors/people who wrote the ones from your last cycle, and let them know what you are doing, and kindly ask if they could update them. New, updated letters can only help, so if your going to reapply, don't sell yourself short. 👍

I am on the same boat; but the thing is I already graduated last may, and hard to get new LORs from professors(atleast my school) after graduation.I tried last month and 2 of them told me," hmm sure but we really don't remember you." SO I prefer my old 4 letters that I am sure the professors knew me well enough to write good letters.
My school has this community that keeps LORs for as long as the student wants. I think I will get one new letter from the dentist I am shadowing now and send the old ones along with it. GL!

I did similar to what was suggested by DRHOYA.

I contacted my previous LOR writers informing them I did not get accepted and asked them if they could write and submit a new letter. I included an updated 'resume' with my request (new classwork w/grades, shadowing, volunteer work, etc.). None of them had a problem and helped me get in this year. Make sure you follow up and provide them with, 'friendly reminders,' to ensure that they submit on your timeline, not theirs.
