People always talk about getting doing away rotations and trying to get recommendation letters from "big name" faculty members. Who would be good to work with/get letters from in OB/GYN???
Its always good to get letters from a well known member of the field, but a letter from a lessern known person of the same specialty that knows you much better will go alot further. The away rotation will get you a letter that may sound generic at times, however a faculty at your school/hospital will likely write one based on extended personal contact with you and can elaborate on your skills, and qualities in better detail.
