I am currently applying. I have 3 fairly good rec letters (2 sci, 1 nonsci) from profs that knew me pretty well. However, I am kinda concerned since 3 is like the minimum that each school requires. I could get one more from my advisor, i don't think it will be a great one though. Are med schools going to look down upon having only 3 letters?

My (Ivy League) school will only allow us to submit 3 letters of recommendation. Maybe it is only OK because med schools know that it is our policy, but it certainly hasn't hurt me in getting interviews.
Do you have anyone who knows you outside the classroom setting (boss, volunteer/research supervisor, coach...) That might be good for giving a different perspective on your application than "Chintu is an excellent student and got an A in my class."
