Received an interview!! :D

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hey I remember you fretting about your DAT, are you still going to retake? And congrats on the early interview, I regret not taking my DAT earlier and thus submitting my app earlier. Good luck to you though.

Heheh Thanks! I'm thrilled about it! But yea, I was a bit worried about my DAT score because of my QR and BS. But I'm not sure if I should retake it still 😕 I'm still debating. If I do excellent on it, I will probably open a lot more doors, giving me a lot more chances. But if I do worse, it will hurt my chances, add a lot more stress, and I'd have to take it a 3rd time :scared:

As of now, I'm leaning towards using my current DAT scores and not retaking it for this year. If I get no acceptances this year, I will study my butt off (not 2.5 weeks ), retake my DAT in Spring, and reapply 👍

Did you get an invite via e-mail, too? or did they only notify you via the online site? I don't check that site very often and I'm afraid I'll miss it, if I get an interview

I received interview invitation from Midwestern too 😀 (even tough I have not received any interview from case university so far )and I don't think it's just luck I HAVE score of 21 on science and 4.0 GPA

Good for you. I'm proud of you. Was it really necessary to boast about your scores?

Hi there! 🙂 They sent me an invitation email the same day I found out about the interview invite from their website applicant portal page. Hope this helps!

Awesome. Did you get an assigned interview date? Get to choose a date? Given multiple options?

I was given multiple dates that I can choose from 🙂 All the date options I received were in only in September... with interviews only on Mondays, Tuesdays, and sometimes on Wednesdays 🙂

how do people go to interviews, most people have classes during that time, and most of the times you'll have more than one interview which means missing that many classes from that semester, especially if you're gonna go for a couple of days for each interview (long distance), and you have bio classes and lab, how does that work?

Does anyone know when interview invites are usually sent out? My application was mailed on July 4.

Students generally take a lighter load during that semester. If you have multiple interviews close together, some schools will let you reschedule them. I also think that some professors, especially those in the sciences, would be willing to help you make up a lab or exam because they've had students go through the process before and understand how important it is.

Ditto. First semester of senior year is usually when dental/med applicants are finishing up apps/interviewing. You essentially try to plan your interview dates around big exam days/quizzes, but most science professors are usually willing to work with you.

I echo the same advice; however, at the beginning to semester/registration, make SURE (Talk or Email) that your professor will work around your schedule.

Nothing is worse then getting an interview, and the professor is a d-bag that won't move/allow you to take it earlier.

I remember scheduling a flight, and because two of my interviews were within three days, my professor wouldn't let me miss class. Needless to say, I had to change my flight to red eye. I flew to the other side of the country, slept in the airport in my suit, and interviewed later that morning. Moral of the story: talk to your professors before hand

Thanks for sharing your story, I'll be sure to plan ahead! =D
