The alleged terror mastermind allegedly planned to gun down suburban mall shoppers. He was allegedly a recent graduate of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy.

I wonder how many other pharmacists are planning violent jihad as we post?

I'm planning anti-jihad. I'm going to run into a crowd of people and implode on myself from the density of my workload.

Seems he was planning on practicing in Saudi Arabia. This attack was planned in 2002?

"Mehanna was living in a sprawling Sudbury house with his parents when he was arrested."

Seems his family is wealthy in the US and yet he still "viewed civilians as fair game because they were taxpayers and nonbelievers". I gather from this that either his family didn't pay taxes or he also wanted to kill his family... 😏.

"Prosecutors alleged that members of the conspiracy traveled to Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen, seeking training from various terrorist groups to fight against US soldiers, though none of them were accepted."

Got rejected from Terrorist School but got into Pharmacy School? Nice. I guess the standards for terrorist training are a bit more stringent than pharmacy school.

there goes the school's name..........bet they're fuming right now......negative attention is not what they want, especially with the application cycle in full swing

They live among us, the sleeper cells do.

No use getting worked up over it, as long as we, the blasphemers and heathens, exist, there will be danger.

Doesn't matter if he was a pharmacist or a professional football player.

this is some sick news. guns and weapons should be banned in every country. only the law enforcement should use them.

the pharmacy school shouldn't even be listed in the article but as a pharmacist he can do more harm if he wanted to.

Given your do not feed the troll sig, I'm going to assume this was in jest.

He is no stranger to terror investigators.

Tarek Mehanna was questioned way back in 2006, and then arrested in 2008. He allegedly distributed an orgy of beheading porn across the internet.

One video alleged to be distributed by Mehanna in July 2006 depicts the remains of US personnel in Iraq being mutilated; it included a preface by Osama bin Laden.
mong other things, Mehanna translated and published online an English translation of "39 Ways to Serve and Participate in Jihad" - such activities as fundraising or "electronic jihad" by participating in online chat rooms and cyber attacks on enemy websites, the affidavit alleges.
How does a suspected jihadi, well known to the FBI, manage to obtain a license to practice pharmacy?

Why did the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy not expel him in 2006? As a student, I would be very concerned if a suspected jihadists were allowed to roam around campus.

Are graduates given a background check after passing the NAPLEX?

The line of the week- nice PJ5a1!

And many forum posters complain that the NEW schools of pharmacy will let anyone in...MCPHS is the second oldest one in the country. Then again, when your incoming class size is over 300 (!), the law of averages dictates that there will be a few malcontents / anarchists / worse who slip through the cracks.

I wonder if his father being a faculty member helped him any during admissions, I'm sure it did.
