I'd like to add a few more medical schools while my AMCAS is currently "ready for review." however, if i recertify and resubmit my AMCAS after i add a few more schools, will that put me at the end of the line to be reviewed?

If it's already processed, the processed AMCAS is sent to those schools right away.

However, you said it's still being reviewed. I don't think it will put you at the bottom of the queue... but if you want to play it safe, you can wait until it finishes and THEN add the schools.

It's not worth the risk unless someone confirms that it won't boot you to the end. Wait for verification, then add those puppies.

No, it will not. From the AAMC FAQ page:

"Can I add schools after I certify and submit my initial AMCAS application?

Yes. You may re-enter your certified and submitted AMCAS application at any time to add additional medical school choices or designations, as long as the deadline has not passed for the school you wish to add. You must re-certify and re-submit the application at that time, and this must be done by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) of the deadline day. Re-certifying and re-submitting your application will not cause any processing delays, but you will be asked to submit payment of $32/school."

This would be true if you are assigning rec letters to schools after submitting as well, right?

probably? I still feel wary about adding more schools right now even with that FAQ quote.

I can say from personal experience that adding more schools before being verified does not change the submission date as listed on the printable version of your application. Based on that and the FAQ quote posted above it seems very unlikely that adding more schools will put you to the bottom of the queue.

I applied last year and added more schools and letters while it was begin verified. It did not impact verification time. I was verified the same time as others who submitted the application at the same time as I did.
School selection and letters have nothing to do with the verification process!
