Recognized Therapist Certification in India?

Hey folks,
You guys have any idea what critera/type of certification(s) can be considered "credible" for Indian therapists/psychologists? Suppose a student abroad has to see a therapist in India, but must get the therapy "cleared" back home (exact criteria wasn't told; student was just told to "seek therapy") by American psychologists.

I'll bet there will be no problems as the fees in India will be lower than in the US. That's one reason medical tourism is a big business. For example, insurance companies could pay for a roundtrip flight and surgery fees for less than surgery in the US.
