Starting off my board review and looking for documentaries or movies about the human body, like those 3D documentaries they have on the science channel and National geographic.
Figure I'll watch that while exercising...not a bad compromise.

I'm not sure that documentaries on basic cable are going to go into the sort of depth that would be useful for the boards.

Maybe you could watch Acland's anatomy videos or something, although anatomy isn't exactly a major board topic. Otherwise, I'd recommend you just watch something enjoyable while you exercise to prevent burnout.

I recall the Discovery Channel having a several part series on the human body.

I just knew that someone was going to mention porn.

You beat me to it. I was just going to ask - porn, anatomy, biochemical processes - what is the OP looking for? If the OP is already a medical student, I assume he/she is not looking for something geared to the lay public. If he/she is a first year, I recommend the Acland gross anatomy DVDs. I borrowed a set of the original DVDs from my mentor but someone had tried to use them to make a bootleg copy and they were so screwed-up that I finally shelled out $165 or whatever it was for the entire set.

Acland won't replace studying, but when I was just too darn tired to sit at my desk and study, I would flop in my recliner in front of the TV and watch Acland. American Idol it's not... but I did feel like I was doing something productive with my time when I just couldn't study any more.

"Osmosis Jones" gives a pretty cool overview of the immune system.

The Acland videos for sure is a good source. He explains everything in great detail, slowly and with alot of review breaks... Will be very good when I have the practical and NBME in anatomy next year.. I just finished the whole body last week with a abdomen, pelvis/perineum and lower-limb exam. So only neuro-anatomy next semester to go before I have the exam 🙂

Debbie Does Dallas, both old and new versions to highlight changes in male and female body hair.

You laugh, but it was probably Chris Rock's best movie.

Oh, by far. But then again, Chris Rock is the world's most overrated comedian -- right behind Dane Cook.

Each of 'em have all of two and a half funny bits.

Just when we were getting along, you had to say something like that! So as to not alienate you any further, I will refrain from pointing how wrong you are. 🙂

Bah. Robin Williams? Eddie Izzard? Richard Jeni? Ricky Gervais? Jim Jeffries? The late George Carlin (no doubt lounging on Joe Pesci's roof these days)?

I go to the school were Dr. Acland made the videos. He is so awesome. Part of our anatomy course contains fresh tissue dissections with Dr. Acland. It is so enjoyable to listen to him explain anatomy. I remember asking him why a certain artery wasn't where it was supposed to be, and he responded with a British smile "arteries and nerves have no moral obligation to be where a book tells you they will be."

Def get these videos.
