I strongly recommend not doing a BS/MD program. Get a good liberal education, try lots of different courses; maybe you will find something else you like. Pick up the prereqs long the way. If you want medicine, med school will always be there. But there is no reason to make such a decision at 17. This isn't a race and you don't get any points for getting through first. If anything this path rewards people who have more life experiences BEFORE they start down the rabbit hole.

I also chose not to do a combined program for the reason above. But in talking to some people who did choose that path, I've been told that it is a great advantage to not have the pressure of getting into medical school. It allowed them to take more varied courses without going towards a major, and to not have to worry about the MCAT at all.

Ultimately there are some positive and negative aspects of both paths. I hope whatever you choose works out well for you.

Don't do it. I talked to many people as I was considering the same route, and it didn't really fit me.

Don't be in such a rush, you will get there. 👍

I agree with everyone else. I was going to go into my school's track for Meharry, but I was behind from not taking Bio and Chem first sems. Take your time, or you'll screw up. I talked with a commitee member for Meharry, and they really ,REALLY love an all-around student who is just not into academics but is doing EC'S and a major that's not science related. What I'm saying is don't rush and enjoy college. It'll go by fast and you'll wish youd never got in early. Plus, you need to mature more as you age, but going in young doesn't work out too well.
