Recommend sports/MSK physiatrist in Santa Cruz, CA area? Also San Jose would be close enough.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you want to know about the case... For a family friend who has bilateral knee instability since childhood, never diagnosed. Now as a 30 year old adult, having worsening symptoms of instability, more than pain. Had MRIs which showed discoid lateral meniscus bilaterally. This probably explains her symptoms since childhood. MRIs also show one knee with high grade or full tear of ACL, and other knee with low grade tear of ACL. I imagine the ACL tears are secondary to instability due to the discoid menisci, and may explain the worsening of instability symptoms. She saw two ortho surgeons, and neither one offered or recommended surgery. One I believe questioned whether or not she actually had an ACL tear. The problem was that the consults were very unsatisfying, not because surgery was not offered (she is not set on having surgery), but because no clear explanation was given to explain her condition, and to explain why they did not recommend surgery. I had a friend curbside another ortho colleague, and they seemed to think surgery should be an option. I really do not know what to think of this situation. I spoke with her via video call, but have not actually been able to examine her knees. I figured a non-operative specialist should also be considered for a another opinion. She has been trying to get the medical records from the two ortho consults, but I have not received them yet.
