Recommendation for Mortgage Companies?

I am looking at buying a home for Medical school. Since this will be my first time to buy a house, who are some good reputable companies to get my mortgage through? What about Lending Tree . com? Don't know much about them but I hear their advertisements all the time. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also, what should I look for/avoid in mortgage agreements. Any hidden charges or stuff like that, that I can get screwed on?
