Recommendation from Course Director for lab?

I know that most schools specify letters of recommendation from science faculty, but how much weight would a course director (for intro bio labs) compare to a science course professor.

I'm a little worried now also because so far the letters I'm asking for are all from 200 level bio classes (as opposed to 300) just because I did the best in them and the faculty was a lot more approachable. would optometry schools look upon this unfavorably?

I don't think it matters what level the bio teacher taught. My science professor letter taught me in 100, 300, and 400 letters.

Does anyone know if they have to specify what course they taught you in when writing the LOR? If not, it shouldn't matter what level they taught you at as long as you were a good student in their class.

As long as they know you reasonably well and can provide you with a strong reference letter, I don't think the course level should make a huge difference. I used my instructor (not professor) and lab assistant from a first-year computer programming course as my academic references, since it was a small class and they got to know me fairly well. I didn't have any problems because of it. If you're not sure, double check with the schools you are planning to apply to.

The problem is, I've never really gone to office hours for any of my science professors, so I'm basically asking those whom I've done relatively well in their classes and also were very friendly and approachable.
Ack, that is the best I've got so far, I've asked another 200-level professor and the lab course director I just need to wait for a reply now!

I think PCO is very strict with their classifications of LORs. I needed 3 science profs but they wouldn't accept a psych prof, cause he wasn't technically science. Although, they psych course was under faculty of science and it was a pre-req....

o man that really sucks =/ i thought they also accepted a letter from an optometrist in place of the third science one i thought?
