There are some DO schools I remember looking at that DO NOT require a letter of recommendation from a DO, but say that it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. My advice was that it was a great experience for me working with a DO and you can see first hand if it is for you as well. Also getting a good recommendation from one can greatly increase your chances of at least an interview because they know you truly want to go into the profession.
