Hey everyone, for the the non-science recommendation letter, do you think it would be okay if I got it from the TA who knew me well. This was a philosophy class that was mostly led by the teaching assistants. The professor of the course does not know me but I was more acquainted with the teaching assistant. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No. Get it from a professor you took a class with.

I emailed a half dozen schools and every one told me they wouldn't take a TA letter for the non-science requirement.

Would a letter from a psychology professor count as non science?

oh man, i did well in my intro psych but I never went up to the professor or anything , which means ill have to take another psych course and get chummy with prof. lol
Thanks for the answer man.

If you just explain to your prof your situation I am sure the prof will understand and would be willing to help you. I suggest that you should at least shoot your prof an email and ask. I have done this for both my 2 science LOR and 1 non-science and was perfectly fine.

Wait, do you need letters from both science and non-science professors?

Depends on the school. AZCOM for example wants one science letter, Touro CA wants two (but will take one from a graduate TA) , PCOM wants 3, 2 of which must be science.

If you have 2 science + 1 nonscience you should be good to go for any DO school.
