Do they have to be sent to AADSAS prior to me submitting my application? How does this process work? Do they just hold the application until they come in?

You can definitely submit before all your letters have been uploaded 🙂

They can be sent after you e-submit. Just make matched your forms and sent upload emails to your evaluators before you e-submit or else they have no link or means of uploading it to your application.
