I also posted this on the DO forums.

What would be the best thing to do while waitlisted?

I noticed that schools expect you to update them with information such as the MCAT, courses, and other relevant details. However, I do not have anything
to update except my continued volunteering. This cycle squeezed me dry in terms of application related expenses. I did not have virtual options for
some of my schools, so I flew to the schools + hotel. I actually had to max out 2 cards this cycle just to do this. Taking a DIY postbac or SMP during the spring is out of the question. I think I am particularly concerned about the coursework because I have been out of school for many years due to health issues. I would be more than happy to take 15 credits of sciences just to show them I am still competitive, but I was hoping my competitive MCAT score was enough.

I am an independent student financially, and I did not know where to ask this kind of question or get advice.

Also, my clinical scribe job just laid my team off as of October, because they are now using AI. I guess I could look for another scribing job, but I'm not sure about not working there for a full year, which they expect you to.

The only update I have is that currently, I am in the process of obtaining an interpreter license, but I am not sure if this would make a difference by the time I get a job in the field.

What would be the wisest thing to do at this time, other than letters of intent/interest?

Thank you so much for your time!

Hey there!

How old are your most recent credits? Did you receive interview invites and are just waiting for the cycle to shake out? Sould do a WAMC if you haven’t so we can get a full picture.
