Starting my sub-i next month and we were told to get protective eyewear on top of surgical masks due to COVID. I got a pair of plastic safety glasses, however I'm wondering how well these will work and I'm a bit concerned about fogging on long shifts. Thought I would check in and see if anyone here has found any glasses/goggles that have worked well for them?

Safety glasses work fine. Just mold the nose piece to your face on a level 3 mask and it shouldn't fog up. If you are wearing an N95 you obviously shouldn't get fogged up from the mask either.

That’s not really true, you can get fogged up with a well fitted N95. The mask is meant to be adherent during inhalation, but not during exhalation. It’s not a space suit. Even if it was 100% adherent throughout the breathing cycle, the exhaled air has to go somewhere and can travel up towards glasses and has a higher temperature so it could fog up the glasses.

What has worked pretty well for me is at the beginning of the shift to wash your eyewear with soap and water. Seems to prevent fogging. Of course you can also go with commercial antifog spray.

Thanks for the replies! Guess I'll just give these glasses a shot.
