I'm a rising junior (undergrad) who's been considering dentistry for some time now (I got on board a year ago). As a bio major I've taken enough science classes to keep up with the predent requisites but I want to find out what else I can do.
So far I've completed around 40 hours shadowing a general dentist, but other than that, I have virtually no directly dentistry-related experience, AKA no dental research experience, I've never interned/researched at any medical/dental universities, etc. so I want to start acquiring more relevant experience before it's too late, beginning with winter break 2015.
I'd really appreciate it if you could throw out some of your personal experiences or advice about what someone like me could spend next winter break doing-- maybe a dental brigades program, etc.? Thanks!
