I have all my secondaries but Im debating sending them in. Right now is a difficult time, where i think I need to help my family out for the next year, plus i am worried about expenses(if i get into d schooll), and I dont think i stand a chance for acceptance (gpa 3.0, DAT 17, sci gpa will be 3.0 I graduated as a foreign lit major). plus I think I hav waited too long to send my secondaries, schools send out acceptances dec. 1st! Is anyone in this position? 🙁

DAT 17? is that your AA? - if it is, focus on private schools like BU, NYU, Tufts, etc...

Don't quit yet, I have much higher GPA, but similar DAT... and I got many interviews from both public and private schools.

Hang in there, and give it a shot.

DONT GIVE UP..NEVER GIVE UP..I am in the Same Situation and I am DOING FINE....I am getting interviews....Just believe in yourself...I applied to 23 schools and by now i can tell u where not to waste ur money!!!

In term of finance, you already paid a certain amount of money to the AADSAS for your primary application, so if you quit now, you waste that amount.
In term of acceptance, next year when you re-apply, you will be considered as 2nd-time applicant and not 1st-time applicant. It is true that you do not have interview yet for this year but you still did apply this year. The schools already have your profile from AADSAS, (otherwise you won't get a secondary applications from them), and therefore you are no longer a new applicant. I would rather be the 2nd-time applicants who did go through the first time and got rejection than the 2nd-time applicants who did not even finish his applications in the first place. See my points?
In term of timing, you probably will get interview at some schools in February to March. As long you have interview, you still have chances. So you are not late.
I hope your family will support you and good luck to your journey to dental school.

THanks so much everyone. Sometimes its helpful to hear it from people who are outside the situation. Dr. Smiley I didnt think about the 1st time applicant vs 2nd time. Its a good point. I am going to send as much as I can in as soon as possible. thanks for the encouragment 😍
