I want to add this word to my anki deck but I would like feedback on my definition of it.
here it goes:
people view their memory free of error when in reality it is distorted

Members don't see this ad.
 
That definition looks okay to me. The process of memory recollection is affected by potential errors and distortions. The example I gave in your other thread illustrates how certain aspects of a recalled story were modified to account for cultural and historical viewpoints.
