Hi all,
I had requested a letter of rec from a professor and he said I'd be a good physician etc and he wrote me one. He also says if it doesn't work out, I should do a PhD in his lab.
I am in a lab which is not his but I took his class which is why I asked him for a LoR. I like to do research but I am very uninterested in doing a PhD as I don't have a personality that research is ideal for (creativity and liking lab work when experiments are failing). I also tend to overthink things in lab and have never been great at experiments in lab or in pre-req course labs. I did not mind the lab write-up though or conceptual parts.
Should I be alarmed of his comments? I haven't seen his LoR of course but I feel like it might say: "I don't know why elitehacker1337 wants to pursue medicine when he has a personality for research".
I try to be interested in the courses I take and like asking what-if questions so I think he thinks that I want do a PhD.
Any thoughts on this?
