I just want some clarification about the reference letter. In mid-May, will AADSAS provide just the reference matching form to be attached with the reference letter or is there another form which my teachers needs to fill ? (Because I have seen some schools, not participating in AADSAS process, asking specific questions on their reference form).

If their is no form to fill, does AADSAS require letter on some official notepad or somesort of official stamp ?

Also, can I just ask my teachers to provide me a reference letter in a signed envelop and then I collect all the stuff and mail to AADSAS. Will this work ?

Last question, what should my teacher, dentist etc. emphasis in the reference letter ?

Sorry for a lot of questions. I appreciate all the help.

Thanks.

There is a form asking for your institution name, your name, your SS and your professor’s name. You should include that form along with each LOR. I think you can find it on AADSAS web site.

What I did about my LOR's is I made copies of my transcripts, photocopied my honors, my statement and gave that all to my professors that agreed to write me recommendation letters. I also included a stamped envelope with prefilled AADSAS address on it and gave each one to those professors. So, all they had to do is to write a letter, put everything in provided envelope and drop it off.

Also, don't forget to send your profs. a thank you letter. This will remind them in a gentle way to write you that letter as they have tendency of forgetting things 🙂

Edit: didn't see your last question. There is no formal format on how LOR's should be written. But they definitely should include what they think of you as a student, a person and what makes them think you would be a good candidate for d school or any other professional institution. Professors usually know what to write as many of them have done it before.

Thanks DDS2BE for your clarification. Case is one of the school I am really interested in. Hopefully, I will see you there next year. Do you have any idea what is the DAT and GPA averages for your matriculating class ?

Thanks again.

sailinx, I don't think this matriculating stats information is available for our 2009 class yet because there are still people getting acceptances and some still deciding where to go. It should become available sometime in August.

Here is the stats from last entering year I took from Case web site:

Recent Statistics
Fall 2004 Entering Class:

Positions Available 70
Applicants 1771
Number interviewed 343
Mean GPA 3.39
Mean Science GPA 3.26
Mean DAT Academic Average 18.17
Mean DAT Perceptual Ability 17.93

Good luck on your admission cycle and make sure you apply as early as you can 👍
