Reflection/refraction

OK this could be a stupid question but i just wanted to check with sdn

Light travelling through air strikes benzene (n=1.8) which angle will be smallest?

reflection
refraction
incidence
cannot be determined



The answer is refraction because light will bend towards the normal if entering a medium with a higher refractive index. However, I may have complicated my thoughts. I put D because if the angle of incidence is 0 degrees, it would just pass through the benzene and the angle of refraction would be 0 degrees too. Is my thinking wrong?

Ah ok thanks. I thought some would pass straight through (ie angle of refraction is zero)

It does pass through. It's just not refracted. That's why considering the case of 0 degrees doesn't work
