HI, How long does it take after sending a withrawl letter to a med school before they send out a refund check? I received a letter confirming my withdrawl, but with no refund!! I need money!

A refund check? I have never heard of a school sending a refund. I know the $$$ for secondaries is kept and the deposit you pay to reserve a spot is usually non-refundable.

I agree with the first part about the seconderies... But I think some schools would refund your deposits... I am not sure though... Are you sure that they don't???

Many schools (most in fact) refund your deposit, especially state universities. However, some private schools (DO in particular) do not.

basically the crappier the school and more likely it is seen as itself by itself as a 'back-up' school the less likely they are to give refunds. this is why a many do schools have such $hitty refund policies and steep deposits well in advance of matriculation.

I am assuming that you refer to deposit to hold a place in class after an acceptance. I'd suggest you to call up the school about this, because they may have thought that the check was issued when it was not.

When I applied to NYU and later got politely told that I couldn't apply (I'm an international student), they didn't give me a refund. I called them and specifically asked for it, then they put credit back to my credit card a week later.

Schools should refund your deposit as along as you give them notice before May 15th....according to my knowledge.
