Regarding BU interview

Hi friends,
I have a very important question regarding BU. Has any of you reapplied? If a candidate has applied last year and went for a interview and was not selected last year and if she reapplied again will she be called for an interview this year?Or will they take last year's interview into consideration.
Please if any of you know the answer for this, can u please reply to me.

can I ask both of you(shilpi & buttursnow),do you have any Idea why were you guys rejected at BU???I do not mean to be rude,but I was just wondering??was it because you applied late OR you did not have the minimum requirments??

Hi sam,
that is ok. I know ur curious. I did not get my degree certificate in time. So I was not able to make my application complete. That was really bad luck.
Another point to you, if u want to get into Boston is----if u have scored above 90 in Part 1 and applied as early as possible u'll surely get in.
The candidate who was selected last year who had the lowest score was 88 in BU.Their main criteria for selecting people is if they scored above 90 and also if they applied early.

I really appriciate your immediate reply,thanks a lot.Though it broke my heart coz my part-1 is only 85.I was hopping for a meracle to get in to BU,but if the minimum they took was 88 ,I do not think that meracle is comming to me.

Usually if a school has alredy interviewed you, they won't need to do it again. So your chances of acceptance pretty much depends on what you did to improve your application from last's years one. I mean you'll need to figure out why were you rejected, and try to improve that. Otherwise, if your application looks just like last year's one, and you did nothing to improve it, they'll just probably reject you again. Unless their addmissions statistics start to go down hill, which doesn't seem likely.

So buttersnow, if your last year problem was incomplete application, and this year you've already complete it, you're all set. Good luck!

Sam, don't worry. I'm worst than you, I've got only an 84. Most schools like to inflate their stats. Most schools have told me they'll only admit upper 90's scores, which of course isn't true. Hopefully, we'll get called from some other school!! 😉

Thanks a lot for your encouragement,hope and a meracle are the only things that I have now.

In fact what scares me the most is my part-1 score cause it is the most crusial factor for BU.I was hopping that they might take in to concediration some extra things which I included in my application and they are:

1)-I did tow years in the faculty of MEDICINE before I transfered to Dentistry.
2)-I worked as a dental officer(Lieutenant)in the Army at my home country for 2 years.
3)-I took the Canadian DAT,and got good scores.

Well, most of us are hoping the schools take into account our other qualifications other than stats. 'cause I have several years of volunteer and work experience, great school stats, great LORs, etc. So all of us have something we'll like the school to get impressed by! 🙁 nothing new on that. 🙁 sorry I didn't have anything funny to say about that.

Why do you feel UPenn is worthless??

Also, Columbia deadline is far gone. Are you thinking for 2005?

They will usually call you for an interview even if they had interviewed you the previous year.

I did not mean that penn is worthless..I do not dare saying that.I ment it is worthless for me to apply cause I know that they interview all and grill all and finally take BEST of THE BEST.I had 3 friends who applied in 2001 they had 88+89+89, they were all interviewed and all rejected.

They told that you do not know what to expect from PENN....they might prefer people with Masters,AEGD, spicialities,long hestory of experience.....etc.

hi! I have the same situation , i have applied to BU last year very late, in feb end. But they called me for interview in april. & send me a letter that you can reactive your application for 2004. So i did, & i called once before 2 weeks to check status of application , but they told me you had already interview with us so we will not call you for interview this year & we will directly send you the decision in DEC.
Any suggestion?
