Regarding online NBME forms (prediction, choices)

I realize that most people get NBME scores that correlate well with the step but did you notice in the sample feedback forms they say that they are not intended to correlate with step 1. Is this just to protect themselves?

Also which NBME forms are best to do? Should I just do them all so I can get prediction and have a chance at perhaps getting repeated questions?

i have always heard NBMEs are better predictors
but UWSA are better learning tools because they actuallt tell us the answers!

I did 3, 6, and 7. 6 and 7 were more similar to real thing and I had a repeat question from 6. In your time frame I would do 3 or 4 max. They are only good for monitoring progression.

You will find different answers on this question. My UWSA#2 score was 2 pts closer to my real score than nbme7 was. Many times people feel NBME correlates better because the difficulty and the curve are more similar to the real thing.

UWSAs have very friendly curves so they can overestimate for people who make silly mistakes or miss a higher portion of the "easy" questions

I think most people find 6 and 7 correlates very well but what about 3 and the other ones? I know you did only 3 but if others have view on correlations of 1-5?

I plan on doing 6 and 7 a bit later on and thought maybe I can do UWSA1 and form 4 or something earlier?
