Hey all,

I was wondering what happens if I get waitlisted at school A, get accepted at school B and enroll at school B, but hear back from school A with an acceptance after May 15.

Can I still cancel my enrollment at school B and go to school A before classes start, or am I legally bound to attend school B?

Thanks,

Mike

You can still accept the spot at School A, but you'll lose your deposit from School B. A small price to pay, in my opinion.

Post-May 15th acceptances usually give you a very short time window to respond to the offer (like 24 hours or so). If this happens, you would have to make a very quick decision to take the offer and then quickly withdraw your acceptance from the other school. But yes, it is possible.

Once you attend a class (including orientation class) at school A, it is illegal per AMCAS rules for school B to take you off their waitlist.

I saw a post where a student started class at a DO school, got off a waitlist at an allo school, and immediately withdrew to attend the second school. Off course, once you matriculate anywhere, you are obligated to pay the tuition for that term.
