I have been informed by a former admissions committee member that schools often don't take regional interviewees seriously.
It seems silly to offer one if that is the case, but this is the crazy world of medical school admissions.
If you do a regional interview, I would reccomend writing the shcool stating after the meeting stating your continued interest in the school and how kick a$$ you think their program looks.
