Regis University anyone?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Me too. Glad I'm not the only one. Which group were you in, PTK2014?

At Regis you are not considered a graduate student your first year even with a 4 yr degree in hand. It has something to do with their requirements. As a result you get less funding than if you were classified as a graduate student. The difference is quite a bit. If you check out housing in the area you will find it's not cheap. I figure with tuition, books, insurance, housing, utilities, food etc. your looking at around 65000.00 a year.

Why is tuition such a big issue? Unless you get in-state tuition (or attend Idaho) tuition per year for most schools is around 30,000 a year, give or take a few grand. Cost-of-living is all relative. Where I'm from, 850/month gets you a glorified closet to live in and access to bathroom facilities. In Denver, that same money gets a 2 br apt.

65K?

You really gonna need 30K to live off of?

The school-run apartments are like 500/month and I'm pretty sure that includes a few utilities.

Some people will be coming with a family...they would not be able to live in the school run apts...they will have to rent a home and feed more than just themselves.

True.

Suppose I hadn't considered that angle.

Families can live in the school run apartments. They are $500 a month & include all utilities, cable, & wifi. Also, I think spending $30K a year on living expenses sounds a bit over the top. Speaking from experience, around $5-10K seems more likely. 🙂

On the financial aid application (fafsa) Regis does want you to be classified as an undergraduate your first year. I was able to get all the money I needed and then some. There is housing right across the street from Regis starting at around $500 a month. If you have a roommate housing can get pritty cheap. It's a great program, don't let housing or financial aid determine your decision to join the program those things will all work out. 👍

Still waiting to hear from my interview on the 26th. It's been two weeks today!

Me too!!! Have you heard back yet? I interviewed on the 26th and it's been 17 days now and I've heard nothing yet. :-(

I've declined my spot so hope one of you gets in! GL!

So I got put on the wait list. Does anyone know how likely it is that I will get accepted? I REALLY want to go to school here, so I'm kind of nervous about it. Anything you guys know about the wait list would be really helpful

hello,
when did you find out that you got put on the wait-list?
Thanks and hope you will hear good news soon. How did they notify you?

I interviewed on March 26 and got a letter in the mail this Monday saying I was put on the wait list. But the letter said that everyone on the wait list last year ended up being accepted. I REALLY hope that's true for this year. Does anyone else know anything about it?

If that is the case, then it is a good sign. Don't feel discourage. I know some people actually got a flat out rejection from last year. I hope you hear some good news soon. Good luck!

Wow! RxGrL you must have been a really strong applicant. You interviewed on the 8th and heard you were accepted the next business day!?! I don't think any of the couple hundred interviewed heard that fast except you. Why did you bother to apply and have the costs of getting there, only to turn it down one day later?

I'm sorry. Let me clarify that. I declined my "interview" seat and withdrew my application because I found out my acceptance to another school the day before Regis' interview. I had already scheduled my flight to Denver and everything but it was non-refundable so I flew out there a couple of days before the interview anyway. If I had heard about my acceptance earlier then I wouldn't have booked my flight. I ended up wasting $500+ just to fly out there for nothing. But at least I got accepted into my 2nd choice. Just waiting for my 1st choice now. I'm trying not to think about how much I wasted but rather thinking of it as a good investment.

I was recently accepted to another school, and will be turning down my acceptance in the next few days. There goes $350! 😡 Oh well, good luck to those still waiting to hear back. As a side note I was really impressed with Regis and really, REALLY enjoyed Denver.

has anyone ever gotten a postcard and an acceptance call?

just wondering because i got a postcard from them today but the only person in this thread that got a postcard, got rejected 🙁

I also got a postcard today but no call from anyone. I am nervous to hear that if you get one, then you will get rejected. When was your interview?

Oh, that's not true at all. I got a postcard, letter, and eventually a letter of acceptance along with a call. Hold tight!

may i ask how long it took for you to hear back from them? If they accept you, then someone in the admission office will call to inform you? If no call, then it means rejection? Gosh, this waiting process really nerve wrecking.
Thanks!

Whew! That's a relief! Thanks! 🙂

My interview was on April 8th. When was yours?

I've been rejected by 5 other schools. I didn't expect to get an interview at all from any of the schools because my stats are VERY LOW (2.75 GPA, ~50% pcat). I only tried the application process just to see. I got very lucky with this invite >_<

I forgot what group number but I had Justin as my tour guide.

What group were you in?

I was in group I Blue Team. I forgot my tour lady's name. I wonder when do we expect to hear from them? Good luck to you.

I interviewed on March 19th (Friday), and got my letter and acceptance call on the 29th (Monday). Some people heard back as early as the 25th (Thursday) however.

If it's any comfort, there is a facebook group for the class of 2014 with currently only 25 people. I can't say for sure whether that's the number of seats full out of the proposed 75, but there's always some hope!

will you post the link on here? Also, are you going to attend Regis in the Fall?
Thanks,

Has anyone received any calls/acceptance letters if you were part of the april 8/9th interview dates?

i really hope they get awarded candidate status =(... nervous. Regis is the only place that accepted me. i'm on waitlist for another =( =(.

Good luck to those interviewing tomorrow (and to those who interviewed today)! Anyone from the 3/26 interview hear back yet?

All I got was a postcard from them. I dont know if that meant I'd been waitlisted or not. Waiting is torture!😡

Unfortunately, postcard means nothing. I got a postcard, and did not get in or put on the waitlist.

They said it would be about three weeks since the acreditation commitee is coming in this week...
Did you call the school to get this information? I was in the 4/8 interview and its been two weeks today. The wait is killing me, I wish they could get back to us sonner.

Nope, both Dean Brunner and Kara said the same thing as we were leaving at the end of the day...
The waiting is killing me too!

Has anyone heard anything yet? I checked the the class of 2014 Facebook group, which is now at 38. It was at 37 early this morning and 26 when I first checked a couple of weeks ago.

Has anyone heard anything...?
No, still haven't heard anything today. I am a little nervous and anxious to know. I am losing sleep over this. What about you? I wonder what is taking them so long? It has been more than three weeks for me already. When I was at my interview, I was told that I should get an answer within a week.

Yea, it has been over three weeks for me too... 🙁 on the other regis thread nnnn32125 said, "They had the committee on campus last week, hence the delay on any decisions. Kara said that they would be sending out acceptances(etc..) by the end of this week." That makes me nervous!

have anyone from April 8th interview heard any news from Regis lately?

No, I still haven't heard anything or received anything in the mail... I wonder what is taking so long? I'm really worried and nervous!

They mailed out letters on Friday. Also, they decided not to do phone calls for this round of people who interviewed.

Goodluck everyone
