How many weeks/months in advance should you register for DAT? Also, is there a way to find the test locations/time before paying for the test? Finally, (for those of you in texas), do you recommend any good testing centers? 😳

THANK YOU!

go the the prometric website

then select american dental association, then start, then choose the option, then location, then say you wen to view availability then choose the DAT it shoudl bring up a list of locations and you pick what's closest to you then view seat and look at hte dates and times.

If you want a specific date and time then I suggest you register early. I registered 3 months in advance to get a date that fits with my summer plans. Plus it had the perfect time too. there was no way I was gonna get to the test center at 8am. so I was happy with a noon test time.

Good testing centers: Any that are near to you. The only ones giving the test are prometric centers, so you have no choice there. Might as well go to a closer one.

Yes, you can figure out which testing center you want to take it at. There's a "locate center" option on their website...in addition, you don't pay prometric anything. You pay ADA. Which reminds me, you have to acquire a DENTPIN first, then use that DENTPIN to register/pay for the test through ADA, then they'll tell you that you're eligible to test, then you schedule your test through prometric's website/phone line.

how long does it take for the ada to give you the eligibility letter?

it depends. I got mine the next day or so. as I said I registered for the test back in march and picked a test date the minute it got into prometric's system.

Its electronic anyhow so it shoudl taken them that long to process.

check your spam folder just in case.

damn. I just checked my spam and still nothing. It's been a couple of days now. I got the dentpin registration conformation email, but nothing about eligibility.
