  1. Attending Physician
The National Society for Nontraditional Premedical & Medical Students' conference agenda is pretty solidly finalized. I have attached this document for your perusal. Please feel free to d/l & distribute at you own school's campus.

To refresh - the conference will begin the evening of Thursday 8 June 2006 wit a head to head presentation & Q&A b/t MCAT prep firms followed by an informal Meet 'N' Greet in the restaurant/bar. Fri & Sat will be filled with educational & entertaining presentations and endless opportunities to network amongst otehr pre-meds, med students, physicians & representatives from multiple medical schools & other related venues.

Host City: Washington, DC

Host Hotel: Crystal City Sheraton (conf discount rate = $119/nt - feel free to room share!) - the hotel is less than a block from the Metro & has a free shuttle to & from Reagan National airport negating the need for an expensive rental car.

To Register: follow the link in the above post to reach the conference information webpage, register & pay your fees. Regarding fees - $75, of which $5 will be donated to the American Cancer Society. You may pay via PayPal through the above web process or by submitting payment thru PayPal to the following e-mail address: [email protected] & designating it as "2006 Conference Fee". Or, you may opt for the 'old fashioned' route & send it to the OldPreMeds mailbox at:

OldPreMeds, Inc.
PMB #223
10 Benning Street
West Lebanon, NH 03784

Please make checks payable to OldPreMeds, Inc. & include your name & e-mail with payment.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me OldManDave

Wow! This conference sounds phenomenal! As for me, I am very very new to the pre-med game. Matter of fact, I am still "in the closet" so to speak...not sure if I not ready to admit to others or to myself that this is the path I want to take so badly I can taste it.

Of course, since no one in my life really knows...although I think my wife suspects...it'd be damned hard for me to attend this conference without "coming out". 😀 I may just have to come clean with the family & plan a little mini-vacation to DC...learn some for myself & have some quality family time.

Who else is considering coming?

Yup, I do recall getting your registration. You are on the "signed up" list.

I wanted to assure everyone that since our exhibitors sessions were such a huge hit last year that we will be repeating it. On both Friday & Saturday, noon to 2pm, the atrium of the mezzinine - right outside of the conference meeting space - we will have representatives from UGrad & post-bacc programs, med school & individual vendors for your perusal.

The list thus far? Glad you asked!

Medical Schools
George Washington
Georgetown
VCOM
KCOM
WVSOM
PCOM
Ohio State

UGrad / Post-Bacc
Georgetown Special MS
Georgetown Post-Bacc

Vendors
NowLoan$
Princeton Review
Kaplan

And we continue to work to bring in more...there are several more that are still tentative.

I hope to see you all there! And, if you are attending, be sure to come up & introduce yourself to me - be sure to remind me of your SDN &/or OPM screename!

Our room block for the conference is over half-filled & going quickly. Once the room block is used up OR we cross the deadline - 9 May 2006 - the hotel will no longer guarantee the low rate of $119/night. So, if you are planning to go, you might want to make your reservations sooner versus later.
