Regulatory affairs jobs for Pharmacist

Are there any pharmacist who work in regulatory affairs? If yes, what position and how did you get in? Also, how do you get in without industry rotation or fellowship. I have been applying but getting rejected left and right lol

After speaking with some without fellowship routes who were able to get entry level Reg Affairs or Med Affairs role.

1. They either leveraged an internship in Pharma or Biotech which helped get the role
2. They did landed a summer internship (post graduation) and did well and got converted to a entry level
3. Landed a Contract position and converted to a entry level

It's basically a numbers game: you have to apply to as many "regulatory affairs specialist/associate/analyst" jobs as possible, usually posted by contracting or staffing agencies. You'll spend 1-2 years working as a contractor with horrible benefits and ~60k-90k salary, at which point you'd be competitive for actual full-time employee positions at pharma.

Regulatory is one of the best areas for a PharmD to get into within the industry, in my opinion. I tried to transition to RA a few times early in my industry career but just ended up progressing in functions I already had experience in. If you choose to grow within Regulatory, I can honestly say hitting a base salary surpassing 250k is mostly a question of when, not if.

I have had agency reach out to be for RA jobs but pay for 60 K So didnt move forward and also I was wondering if they were even real. My search is on while I am working at my other health care non pharmacy job.

The contract pay is crap but you don’t do it for the money, it’s for the experience.
