I always wondered what a majority of applicants do job wise after they have been rejected after 1 or 2 admissions cycles. Do most just keep at it until they get in to med school or do most go to other healthcare specific careers such as lab technicians or nursing?

LOL

I think the ones that are passionate about it and really want it re-apply and spend the gap year doing research, continuing volunteering or just working whether it's healthcare related or not.

I mean really when you think about it though. The application cycle is a year and a half long so once you find out in february/march or whenever people usually find out that you've been rejected from everywhere you applied, amcas opens in may and you can apply in june. So if you are re-applying, thats only ~3-4 months in between.

At that point you're probably just doing what you were doing during the application cycle except you might add some volunteering or other activities here and there to boost your application as much as you can.

The people I know who have been rejected and didn't feel like re-applying went to pharmacy school, chiropractic etc.. or just work for a company in a lab.
